Summer Sports Packing Guide

Hi Friends!

Warm weather is finally headed our way which means it’s time for Spring and Summer outdoor events. Our kids have entered this new season of being old enough to try all types of sports. We learned as we went that the games were much more enjoyable when we were better prepared. I thought it might be helpful to share what we’ve bought to prepare for the upcoming season. We did NOT go out and buy everything at once, so don’t feel like you need to do that to be ready. If you are a parent that can just bring a water and not sweat the other “extra” stuff, YOU ARE THE REAL MVP! When my oldest just started her outdoor sports journey, I still had two toddlers in tow so that just wasn’t going to work for me. Between school field days, sports games, pool trips, and beach trips we get so much use out of all these items. Also, with almost all of these suggestions you can find a wide range of price points. Here’s some bargain finds to get you prepared for your child’s outdoor events.

Comfortable Folding Chairs are a must for our crew! I did these separately because there really are so many options at every price point. You want these to be comfortable but also good quality, so they actually last a couple seasons!

These are some of the items we frequently use during the season. Some games we pack light but if we have games back-to-back these definitely make life easier.

  • 1.POP UP CANOPY TENT We use our pop-up tent for everything! It was the best investment and stays in the back of my car during the summer. Search for the best price but always check the reviews on these!

  • 2.STADIUM SEAT FOR BLEACHERS I love these! They have a shoulder strap and cup holder. If you are having to sit on bleachers all season at least these are more comfortable.

  • 3.COLLAPSIBLE FOLDING OUTDOOR WAGON If you have multiple kids or you’re setting up for the entire day this wagon is awesome to pack everything into. These wagons are carried by most stores now so check for the best price!

  • 4.WINDPROOF TRAVEL UMBRELLA We have several cheap umbrellas we keep in the car but do yourself a favor and get at least one really sturdy windproof umbrella too.

  • 5.YETI KIDS STRAW CAP We have one of these for each kid with their name on it. We’ve had them going on 2 years & they still look new.

  • 6.SMALL ICE PACKS (6 COUNT) These small ice packs are perfect for cooling down & treating injuries!

  • 7.JBL CLIP BLUETOOTH SPEAKER Waterproof, Durable & Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Up to 10 Hours of Play - Includes Noise-Cancelling Speakerphone & Wireless Streaming. Perfect to clip onto your purse or cooler bag.

  • 8.BLUE LIZARD Mineral Sunscreen Stick fragrance free & unscented mineral sunscreen. This makes the list as a cleaner sunscreen but still easy to apply.

  • 9.Thinksport SPF 50+ Mineral Sunscreen another great option of a natural water resistant sunscreen!

  • 10.MINI FIRST AID KIT This is always a good idea to have with you during the season either for you kid or someone else’s. On the off season just keep the set in your car!

  • 11.COOLER BACKPACK This bag is perfect to keep drinks cold & storage for snacks. If you don’t want to bring a big cooler pack this instead. We love ours!

EXTRA. EXTRA.

Here are some more suggestions to get you ready for the season ahead! good luck!
