I’m so excited to share my preschool at home must-haves with you! I’ve been working with my oldest since she was just a year old and soon she will be off to Kindergarten. Since I’m a stay-at-home mom it’s really important to me that I work with all three kiddos to prepare them for school. I feel like at this point we’ve tried it all and each child has their own unique learning style. I hope that by sharing the basics for what is working for our family it can be a guide to help you find that right path for your own crew. I use all the different kinds of free resources, such as Pinterest and Youtube, as well as these affordable learning materials. The items I’m sharing with you today aren’t exclusive or hard to find. In fact, several of these materials are Target dollar-spot back to school items. For your ease, I’m going to link similar affordable options for you to order. So let’s get started.

The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.

#1 Must-have!

If there is one item from my list that I recommend the most it’s this workbook! Don’t let the age scare you off of ordering this for your younger ones too. My 2 & 4 year old love this book! The pages aren’t the same lessons over and over. There are unique activities on each page, which makes it exciting for the kids! After each section teaches a new skill there are a few review pages that allow me to test what skills that kids have learned or need extra practice with. This workbook goes on sale all the time so add to your cart and keep checking for a great deal.

This workbook is all about learning to write numbers and letters. It dedicates a page to each individual number, uppercase letter, and lowercase letter. It doesn’t have the fun activities like the workbook above but the repetition is much needed. My oldest uses it for practice when we start a new letter & number. To make this a little more fun I let my little ones use different color markers then earn a sticker when completed!

We LOVE these. I was able to score them from Target’s dollar section before the school year started. The kids think using the dry ease markers are fun so I print off all kinds of free Pinterest activities and games to go inside. I found some on Amazon for you to try.

kids activity books

These are Dollar Tree gold! My husband actually found these Disney Character workbooks and at first I thought they were just coloring books. But NOPE! They have different lessons like learning colors shapes and the alphabet, The different characters differ from store to store so see which ones your store has. I’ll link similar ones you can order from home.

Drawing boards are perfect for the kids to use their imagination and practice their skills on. I love that this one comes with the different shapes!

kids learning

I just ordered this one a few days ago and my 4 year old loves it! The activities are so educational, for example, which hat belongs to police officer and fireman. The best part is she gets to practice using scissors and glue!

Just a few more favorites!
